Maya has been painting for over 40 years and her award winning paintings have been included in numerous exhibitions throughout the Northeast. She works in oil, acrylic and watercolor and often works on very large canvases. “I am drawn to landscapes and try to capture the mood of a place.” A fourth generation painter, Mrs. Rodriguez has followed in the footsteps of her mother Irina Ohl (a watercolorist), her grandmother Erna Lane (a collagist), and her grandfather Harry Lane (whose paintings are owned by the Metropolitan Museum of Art) and her great grandmother Erna Schultz (a miniature portraitist). After studying art and graduating from Dartmouth College, she continued her studies at Tufts, the Maryland School of Art, Missouri State College and the Silvermine School of Art.
